The garden of my home, and now that the moth can not fly.
Best cricket is certainly "Mino moth" moth, the male will fly in the adult female is similar to memory read of the larva and remain forever.
If you want to take on a mobile phone from his pocket, and pretend I was away on the bottom.
Then find something that works. "Moth".
Moth mass occurs in summer, so you can watch the pollen arrived.
We
hope you enjoy your visit to this site where you
can access local information on moths.

OFF THE PRESS:

Large Ranunculus (photo:
G
& D Atherton)
This
attractive moth was found by Geoff And Donna Atherton
at their Haydock home on 25th September 2006. The
record has been accepted by the county recorder
and is a first for Lancashire. This is a significant
extension of the known range of this species in
the UK where it was formerly a species of south
and eastern England.
Old
World Webworm (photo: D Owen)
Yet
another extremely rare migrant species has made
it north into Lancashire during this unprecedented
period of migration. Dave ("New to Lancashire")
Owen has struck again only a few days after adding
Ectoedemia sericopeza to the county list.
The Old World Webworm (Hellula undalis)
came to Dave's garden light trap in St Helens on
the 29th September 2006.
Membership
of the Lancashire Moth Group is open to all those
interested in the moths of Lancashire and is free
of charge. We have an email group where people post
requests for identifications etc, a biannual Newsletter
(」5 for two issues including p&p) and
an Annual Report (presently posted out free of charge).
Chris
Darbyshire is the larger moth (Macro) recorder and
Steve Palmer the Newsletter editor and Micromoth
recorder. The group was formed in 1999 and currently
has over 150 members.
Chris
or Steve would be pleased to receive records of
any moths found in the county of Lancashire (see
recording area). Both Steve and Chris can assist
with identifications of the more tricky species,
being happy to accept well packaged specimens in
the post, photos or emailed jpegs. A return SAE
is appreciated if a postal reply or return of specimens
is required.
Any
records of moths in Lancashire are of interest to
us and if you have the recording database Mapmate
(MM) then Steve's cuk is 1b8. If you need any help
with setting up and creating a file on MM do let
us know. The county database is rather large even
for broadband and if you would like a copy of all
the county's records for Mapmate then please could
you send a rewriteable CD to Steve at 137 Lightfoot
Lane, Fulwood, Preston, Lancs PR4 0AH with a SAE
for return.
Why
not Borrow a Moth Trap?
If you haven稚 tried moth trapping before
or if you have but don稚 have a trap, Butterfly
Conservation, Lancashire Branch, have two traps
available for loan and have added the UK Moths website
CD to the loan package to assist with identifications.
There is a very bright mercury vapour light-trap
and a much less obvious battery-run actinic light-trap.
The latter is suitable for over-looked gardens or
where an easy accessed electrical socket is not
available.
Terms of loan:
If you wish to borrow the moth trap please contact
Steve Palmer to find out dates when the trap is
available for loan.
It
is a condition that a list of all species recored
is included when the trap is returned. It is important
that traps are returned on time as they may be loaned
out again from the following day.
